The incumbent, as an experienced Staff Nurse will be responsible to deliver and manage high standards of evidenced based nursing care activities to patients’ and effectively coordinate with Medical Professionals in developing and implementing patient care plans.

Detailed Description

    • Adheres to ethical standards as per PHCC/GCC code of conduct in decision making practice.
    • Understands nursing ethics, and PHCC policies related to privacy and
    • confidentiality, valuing individual patient’s holistic treatment, being a patient advocate and promoting equality.
    • Delivers care in a manner that is sensitive to diversity within the community
    • Maintain high level of confidentiality
    • Disclose any incidence to their direct supervisor
    • Ethical dilemma must be raised immediately to direct supervisor.
    • Report incidence/unusual events immediately through Datix and email to direct supervisor
    • Undertake and perform a full range of nursing assessments including visual triaging and assessment at the entrance of the health center, triaging as per Triage Policy and identifying the red flags
    • Undertake and perform a full range of nursing assessments, including but not limited to all clinics such as antenatal, well baby, well woman, NCD etc.
    • Undertake to deliver in a timely way interventions to assess health needs,provide care, and advice and support people to start to manage some aspects of their own health.
    • Responsible to provide professional, quality evidence-based patient care according to agreed PHCC standard.
    • Monitor patient condition and assessing clients need to provide best possible care and advice.
    • Recognizing the change of patient’s health condition and respond appropriately.
    • Perform routine procedures (Vital Signs, Blood Sugar, Weight and height, RR, and etc.). Performing procedures e.g., ECG, wound dressing, IV canulation, nebulization, INR checking whenever required.
    • Continuous inspection of equipment and surrounding facility /environment and immediately report any unexpected/unusual findings to the supervisor
    • Checks and prepare clinical area for the next shift to ensure continuity of care
    • Maintain current competencies in nursing specialty by attending mandatory or non-mandatory trainings
    • Document patient's assessment findings (Physical, Psychological, intervention and progresses)
    • Respect patient diversity and culture, avoid any discrimination against patients related to religion or nationality
    • Provide any necessary professional Nursing assistance as required for the
    • Physicians in pursuing direct patient medical care in their Clinics.
    • Collaborate with Physicians and other departments to provide proper patient care.
    • Accept the responsibilities delegated from leads as per the scope of practice.
    • Be a member in the special assignments, where required, such as Code blue, Code white, Code Red, etc.
    • Complies with the organization's policies and clinical guidelines and adheres that within the scope of practice and to PHCC’s standards.
    • Understand and adhere to the concept of patient centered care and involve them in all decisions about their health. Document and record the nursing services issues contemporaneously. Assist all patients, family members, physicians, visitors and employees in a highly professional manner. Promoting well-being by providing relevant health education to patients on self-care techniques. Maintain confidentiality regarding patient/employee/facility/corporate information. Assist in the development of standards, measures and indicators for clinical practice, with the support of the Head Nurse or the Charge Nurse Comply with (in personal) practice and monitors staff compliance of the adherence to PHCC wide policies and procedures and Nurse specific evidence-based guidelines, policies, procedures and standards. Administer medications and vaccinations as per Nursing Medication Administration Policy and Immunization Policy - PHCC Policy and guidelines (Nursing Medication Administration Policy and Immunization Policy). Communicates appropriately with patients and families Aware of the local and national Emergency Disaster Plan and has participated in the mandatory local drill and support senior members as requested
    • Contributes as an active member and manages his/her time effectively Understands the hierarchy within PHCC health services and can clearly identify his/her nursing supports/leaders and manager
    • Perform leadership skills, particularly in interpersonal communication, problem solving, and quality improvement and safety.
    • Provide leadership by acting as a role model for best practice in the delivery of nursing care
    • Demonstrates Interprofessional collaboration to work together in a healthcare setting to accomplish goals, maximize efficiency and achieve optimal outcomes for patients.
    • Identify patient's needs and act as patient advocate whenever required.
    • Seek leadership opportunities such as mentoring new staff and or becoming an independent learner
    • Attends educational activities and keeps practice up to date by embracing the philosophy of continuous learning. Develops annual goals and objectives in collaboration with the line Managers and maintains a professional portfolio. Assumes responsibility for own personal education and development needs. Obtain continuous nursing education CPD points to maintain Nursing medical license and renewed on proper time Taking mandatory courses (BLS Course, IV cannulation, Triage training, wound management and GNO) Utilizes the internal and external resources including guidelines and online tools for self-development Provides health education to patients and families that is evidence based
    • Uses evidence-based data to guide practice decisions and professional growth. Initiates and participates in quality improvement projects as well as in any PHCC research as required. Uses the clinical guidelines and seeks support if unsure of any best practice changes Proactively keeps up to date with latest clinical best practices

Job Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or equivalent as recognized by MOPH Qatar.
    • Registration to practice at country of practice
    • Certificate of CPR course.
    • DHP license.
    • Experience in primary health care delivery.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in nursing.
